OPPO’s stylish new wearable – now available in South Africa – is packed with desirable features.

OPPO has unveiled its latest flagship smartwatch, the OPPO Watch X. Promising to shake up the wearable technology landscape, the OPPO Watch X combines advanced fitness tracking, industry-leading endurance, and seamless connectivity.

Advanced fitness tracking

The OPPO Watch X serves as a comprehensive fitness companion with dual-frequency GPS technology, allowing users to receive both L1 and L5 GPS signals for precise positioning during activities such as running, cycling, and hiking. This feature, coupled with a high-precision accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer sensor, ensures accurate tracking of workout routes and measurements.

Additionally, the watch automatically recognises various sports activities and offers specialised modes like running posture recognition and a dedicated badminton mode for tailored fitness insights and performance improvements.

Precision health monitoring

Beyond fitness tracking, the OPPO Watch X empowers users to manage their overall health effectively. It incorporates an array of sensors, including an 8-channel heart rate sensor and a 16-channel blood oxygen sensor. These monitor vital health metrics such as heart rate variability, blood oxygen saturation levels, and sleep patterns.

Through the OHealth app, users can access detailed reports on sleep quality and receive actionable insights to enhance their well-being.

Smart connectivity

Enabled by Wear OS by Google, the OPPO Watch X offers seamless integration with Google apps and services, including Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play. Wearers can navigate public transportation, manage event tickets, and access a wide range of apps directly from their wrists.

Fast Pair functionality ensures quick and easy pairing with OPPO and other Android smartphones, facilitating convenient access to calls, messages, and music playback.

Endurance

OPPO says one of the standout features of the Watch X is its remarkable battery life. Equipped with a large 500mAh battery and Watch VOOCTM Flash Charging technology, the watch can provide up to 100 hours of active use in Smart Mode and up to 12 days of standby time in Power Saver Mode.

This endurance is achieved through OPPO’s innovative dual-engine architecture, which optimises performance and power consumption.

Elegant design and durability

The OPPO Watch X combines functionality with elegance in its design. Featuring a large 1.43-inch AMOLED display protected by a 2.5D sapphire crystal cover, the watch offers a vibrant and durable viewing experience. Its rugged stainless steel chassis, polished to perfection, ensures durability under various environmental conditions, with MIL-STD-810H US military standard certification for high durability and IP68 dust and 5ATM water resistance ratings.

Price and availability

The OPPO Watch X is available in black and brown variants at leading network operators and retailers across South Africa. With a recommended retail price of R5 999, the OPPO Watch X hopes to revolutionise the wearable technology market, offering users a sophisticated and powerful smartwatch experience at a realistic price.
