In 2025, OMODA and JAECOO – brands under the Chery Group’s O&J division – will introduce a host of new models, including the battery-electric JAECOO J6.

Since entering the local market in 2023 with the OMODA C5, the brands have gained traction with stylish and competitively priced SUVs. Now, their upcoming lineup promises to cater to even broader audiences with advancements in electrification, luxury, and performance.

Omoda highlights

The OMODA lineup will expand with two significant additions.

Omoda C7

Positioned between the C5 and the flagship C9, the C7 (shown above) brings striking design elements such as an X-shaped frameless grille and sleek headlights. Its 4 621 mm length and 2 700 mm wheelbase strike a balance between urban agility and interior spaciousness.

Inside, premium materials, a 15,6-inch touchscreen, leather upholstery, and a 14-speaker sound system elevate the luxury experience, the brand claims.

Omoda C9 PHEV

Following the recent introduction of the petrol-powered C9, the C9 plug-in hybrid variant will mark OMODA’s local entry into plug-in mobility. Featuring a 1,5-litre engine paired with electric motors, it promises sustainability and flexibility. Final specifications are yet to be confirmed.

JAECOO unveils versatility

JAECOO also has an ambitious 2025 roadmap with models that blend luxury, and eco-consciousness.

Jaecoo J5

Positioned below the J7, the compact J5 SUV (above) brings squared-off styling and a host of advanced features. Highlights include a 13,2-inch touchscreen, a large panoramic sunroof, and smart climate control. Its design and features cater to urban families seeking versatility.

Jaecoo J6

As JAECOO’s first fully electric SUV, the J6 (above) targets adventure-seekers with a passion for sustainability who desire the low running costs of fully-electric vehicles, says Shannon Gahagan, national brand and marketing manager of OMODA and JAECOO.

Available in 2WD and 4WD variants with up to 279 kW output, the J6 combines off-road capability with luxury features like electrically adjustable seats, a massage function, and a 15,6-inch touchscreen.

Jaecoo J7 PHEV

Enhancing the already popular J7 lineup, the plug-in hybrid variant promises a 90 km all-electric range (with tests suggesting up to 125 km) and impressive fuel efficiency of 3,3 ℓ/100 km. It offers an efficient alternative for buyers looking for the driving pleasure of an electric vehicle (EV) coupled with the quick refills of a petrol vehicle.

Jaecoo J8

Slated as the flagship model, the J8 (shown above) provides seating for five plus two and comes packed with premium materials and advanced features, according to Gahagan. Its turbocharged 2,0-litre engine delivers robust performance, while a plug-in hybrid variant may also be introduced.

OMODA and JAECOO will release detailed specifications and pricing closer to the respective launch dates.
