OPPO has officially unveiled its latest innovation, the OPPO Pad Neo, a versatile tablet designed to seamlessly integrate into the OPPO ecosystem.

In the tech world, ecosystems are highly profitable. Apple has mastered this strategy years ago with the iPod, iPhone, iPad, iMac, iTunes, Apple Watch, AirPods, and so on.

Samsung, Microsoft and Meta, among others, have copied this approach, with varying degrees of success. But even if a user only matches two products, a smartphone with earphones, for example, it’s a win for the brand.

With the launch of the Pad Neo, OPPO is placing much emphasis on extending its ecosystem, which already offers smartphones, earphones, a watch, fitness wearables, and a router. So, what does the youngest animal in the system offer?

Impressive display and performance

The OPPO Pad Neo is equipped with an impressive 11.4-inch 2.4K high-resolution ReadFit display, delivering exceptional clarity and vibrant colours. This display is a significant upgrade from standard FHD panels commonly found in other tablets.

The inclusion of smart pen support and advanced eye health technology, which reduces blue light exposure by over 40 percent, emphasises the Pad Neo’s user-centric design.

Liam Faurie of OPPO South Africa, commented, “At OPPO, our priority is always to bring new innovative devices that take productivity and play to the next level at an affordable price. The Pad Neo is a great addition to this ecosystem and is a significant milestone for us. With seamless connectivity, multitasking capabilities, and reliability, the Pad Neo delivers on all fronts.”

Powerful specifications for seamless multitasking

Powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 processor and 8GB of RAM, the Pad Neo is built for multitasking and handling demanding applications efficiently. The tablet offers 128GB of storage, ensuring ample space for apps, photos, and videos.

The Pad Neo runs on OPPO’s ColorOS 13.2 based on Android 13, providing a user-friendly interface and smart features to enhance the user experience.

The sleek and lightweight design of the Pad Neo, with its matte and glossy finishes, makes it not only a high-performance device but also a stylish accessory.

Enhanced audio and long-lasting battery

The OPPO Pad Neo features quad stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos, promising a rich and immersive audio experience. The 8000mAh battery supports up to 14.5 hours of video playback on a single charge, and with OPPO’s 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology, users can quickly top up their device’s battery as needed, OPPO says.

Seamless integration and connectivity

The Pad Neo’s integration within the OPPO ecosystem allows for smooth connectivity and synchronisation with OPPO smartphones, wearables, and services. This cohesive functionality enhances productivity and offers an interconnected user experience across multiple devices, OPPO claims.

With its high-resolution 8MP front and rear cameras, the Pad Neo is perfect for capturing moments in stunning detail and clarity, whether for photography or video calls, according to OPPO.

Availability and pricing

The OPPO Pad Neo is now available in South Africa, retailing at R6 999. It can be purchased at leading retailers in one colour only, namely Space Grey. For more detailed information, visit OPPO’s official website.
