The flagship smartphone market is set to heat up in 2025, with new products like the Honor Magic 7 Pro to shake up the hierarchy.

Honor is a brand doing notable things, and the company’s Magic 7 Pro is looking to take Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra head-on while costing much less. Even the company’s press release around the device targets the South Korean competitor’s release. Here is a quote, below:

“Richer details with HONOR’s AI Super Zoom: HONOR leverages cloud AI to elevate the image quality of long distant shots of natural landscapes beyond 30x. The HONOR AI Super Zoom can capture far clearer picture with richer details than Samsung’s Space Zoom.”

The Magic 7 Pro features a 6.8-inch LTPO Equal-Depth Quad-Curved Screen (2800 x 1280 pixels), a Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform chipset, AdrenoTM 830 GPU, 12GBs of RAM, 512GBs of storage, and Honor’s snazzy new AI Falcon Camera System.

It includes a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera (1/1.4”, f/2.6, 3x Optical Zoom, 6x Seamless Zoom, 100x Digital Zoom Maximum), a 50MP Super Dynamic Falcon Main Camera (f/1.4-f/2.0 Adjustable Aperture, OIS), and a 50MP Wide Camera (f/2.0, 122° FOV).

The company is also touting the device’s durability, highlighting that it has a pretty substantial resistance to drop-damage, along with being IP69 and IP68 water resistant.

On top of that, you get a whole bunch of other AI-enhanced operating system tricks that allow images to come out clearer and more precise, along with a sizable 5 850mAh battery.

The final South African pricing details are yet to be announced, but expect it to come in at around the R15 000 mark.
